Add user and encryption

Make user with password

Boot your new Ubuntu drive!

install encrypt tools

sudo apt-get install ecryptfs-utils

(Ubuntu 12.04.3 has this installed by default)

Add user with System Settings -> User Accounts

– Make it Administrator (or later steps won’t work)
– Set a password
– Automatic Login = Off

Reboot ??? -> login with Ubuntu -> home folder of the new user should exist

ctrl + alt + F1 and encrypt

sudo ecryptfs-migrate-home –u “username”

Follow the steps shown on screen:

ctrl + alt + F7

Switch user

If screen does not pop up enter:

ecryptfs-add-passphrase

Run activation thing

Reboot ???

/etc/lightdm/lightdm.config

autologin-user=ubuntu

to

autologin-user=

and

restart and login

if everything fine remove /home/[username].hfdHDgY
